MGMA Statement on the Improving Seniors' Timely Access to Care Act

"Today, the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted unanimously to pass the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act (H.R. 3514, Reps. Kelly and DelBene) out of committee. This follows the Ways and Means Committee unanimously passing the legislation last week. H.R. 3514, strongly supported by the Medical Group Management Association and hundreds of healthcare stakeholders, would help address abusive insurer prior authorization tactics that burden physician practices and delay critical patient care. We thank the bill’s cosponsors and the committees of jurisdiction for their bipartisan leadership – the time is now for the House to bring this bill to a floor vote and for Congress to pass this important legislation to enact lasting prior authorization reform."
